Namco’s TGS line-up includes six PSP titles
Filed under: News
If you regularly read this blog, then the following Namco line-up shouldn’t be all that new. Namco is bringing six titles to show; these are namely: Idolmaster SP Perfect Sun, Idolmaster SP Wandering Star, Idolmaster SP Missing Moon, Macross Ace Frontier, Mobile Suit Gundam vs. Gundam and last but not least Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2.
See what we mean? You’ve probably heard about all these before in the past few months. There doesn’t seem to be any new announcements on the table — which, we must say, is just fine. Though, it would’ve been way more exciting if there was some mysterious project being worked on … something like this morning’s unannounced Sony games.

New mobile suits in Gundam vs. Gundam: screenshot carnage
It’s bad enough that Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs Gundam hasn’t been announced for a Western release, and now Namco Bandai releases over thirty screens of the new mobile suits that will be available in the PSP slugfest game. What a tease, ya?
Get a load of all that shiny metal! So crisp, so vibrantly new, so… so asking to be bent, mangled, and burnt beyond recognition!
Gundam Zephyranthes (RX-78GP01) - Cost: 2,000
Gundam Zephyranthes Full-Burnern (RX-78GP01-Fb) - Cost: 2,000
Destiny Gundam (ZGMF-X42S) - Cost: 3,000
Kampfer (MS-18E) - Cost: 1,000

PSP-3000 Dissidia bundle: pre-orders start soon

Japan gets lucky again, this time in the form of the PSP-3000 Dissidia Limited Edition units. The new bundle was announced just a few weeks ago, scheduled to be released on December 18 alongside the game’s official street date.
Turns out that pre-orders are just about to start. According to Final Fantasy Union, the Square Enix Japan store will be having a limited time frame for when people can pre-order the bundle: the pre-order period only lasts from September 22 - 28.
That being said, even if you decide to pre-order a unit (Square Enix membership required, by the way), you’ll still have to hang on to dear luck. Apparently, it’s going to be a lottery system, says the FFU website.
Who knows how many PSP-3000 Dissidia units Square Enix has prepared? Who knows how huge the demand will be, given that short time frame? For what it’s worth, last time they released 77,777 units (magic number!) of that PSP-Slim Crisis Core bundle.
While we’ve already seen the Gundam bundle, I just wish they’d show us what the Dissidia PSP looks like, already. That and then there’s the Patapon 2 bundle too… Oh well. Let’s just hope that, this time around, Testuya Nomura gets to reserve a bundle, the poor guy.

Gundam vs. Gundam gets first customized PSP-3000
We knew that several new games were going to be bundled with a PSP-3000 pack in Japan, and Gundam vs. Gundam just so happens to be one of them. The interesting thing about this bundle is that the PSP-3000 has a special Gundam-themed embossing on its backside; this will be the first PSP-3000 model — which we know of at the moment — to feature such extra fan service. We wonder if the other Japanese bundles (Dissidia: Final Fantasy and Patapon 2 Donchaka) will also receive this boutique-style enhancement. We’ll just have to wait and see.
The Gundam vs. Gundam bundle will launch alongside the standalone game on November 20 in Japan. It will retail for ¥24,840 ($236.23).

Japan gets first customized PSP-3000 with Gundam vs. Gundam bundle
Pretty, ain’t it?
Well if you don’t live in Japan, chances are you won’t have a chance to get it. Awww. Japan gets another shiny thing before any other region (for all we know, they’ll be the only region who gets this): the Gundam vs. Gundam PSP-3000 model, with a Gundam-themed emboss on the backside - the first customized model of the PSP-3000 we know of.
This PSP-3000 model is part of the Mobile Suit: Gundam vs. Gundam bundle that Japan will receive on November 20. It will be available for JP 24,840 (US 236.23).
The bundle was announced earlier this month, but we didn’t know it’ll get the customized model of the PSP-3000. Other bundles announced back then for Japan were Patapon 2 and Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Wonder if those will be getting customized models too.

Up to 30 different characters and Mobile Weapons will be participating in this robotic slugfest and will include old school series such as the original Mobile Suit Gundam all the way to the newest iteration, Mobile Suit Gundam 00.

Dissidia and Patapon 2 dated, new bundles announced

SCEJ just dropped a ton of information concerning several major PSP titles for the remainder of 2008. Three huge games are now officially slated for this holiday season in Japan, and two of them are certainly games you probably won’t want to miss importing. Dissidia: Final Fantasy is now set for a December 18 release, while Patapon 2 Donchaka and Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam will both be out November 27 and 20, respectively.
All three games will be sold alongside bundled packs that include the new bright-screened PSP-3000. Patapon 2 Donchaka not only dons a new subtitle, but will also be available as a PS Store download for those who want to save a couple of bucks over the UMD version. This is a similar strategy as seen by Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida or2 and Bleach Soul Carnival. Tax-inclusive prices for games and bundles are after the break … just in case you wanted to know how much money will be leaving your wallet this holiday season.
