Make time for Echoshift this week
The innovative time-bending puzzler Echoshift is coming to PSP this Thursday, February 25th, for $14.99. If you haven’t tried the downloadable demo, there’s still time to fix your mistake. Our very own JC Fletcher called it “one of the most engrossing games at Tokyo Game Show” — and he has arguably the best taste on all of Joystiq.
The full echoshift experience will feature 56 levels and “three different game modes” for each level. Noticeably absent in this release is a level editor, akin to the one found in Echochrome. We’re going to complain to Sony, but in the meantime, you can watch a new trailer after the break.

PS3 owners get ready … for Tetris
Alright, PS3 owners, get ready to join the nationwide craze that’s been sweeping the … umm … nation. It’s Tetris! According to Adam Grant, the PSP European Product Manager for SCEE, “EA is currently working on a PS3 version of Tetris that will take full advantage of the capabilities of the PS3 and provide the best experience. Look for this version to be available later this year.”
Though the puzzler is already on the Minis platform, it sounds like EA’s thinking of a beefier, HD version of the game. Because you need that. For Tetris.
[Thanks, pat_boy2008]

Retro-inspired Cubixx kicks off on PSP Minis
We want to be more upset at Laughing Jackal’s wholesale appropriation of the Qix concept — even going so far as to use a similar title — for its PSP Minis game, Cubixx. But the fact is that Qix is awesome, whether Taito is making it or not, and it’s relatively unexplored compared to other arcade classics like Pac-Man. And Cubixx does add an interesting wrinkle to the Qix gameplay: a cube, in which you attempt to draw lines to cover the area of all six faces.
Cubixx will be released in Europe on Thursday 3rd December at a £2.49 price point. See some footage on the other side of the post break.
