king215 Gas Powered Games announces Kings and Castles, antics ensue“We’re doing something different this time,” Chris Taylor, of Supreme Commander developer Gas Powered Games, said about the development of the company’s new game, Kings and Castles. He’s not really talking about the game — it’s another real-time strategy game, being developed for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 — but rather of the development process.

The developer plans to be as open as it can while working on the game, promising frequent updates on Facebook and Twitter (from Taylor’s account, @DeathBot9), as well as on the game’s website. “Synergy will be leveraged, and paradigms will be established,” Taylor said in the press release. “More importantly, buzzwords will be utilized.” From the tone so far, you might expect the updates to be on the silly side.

The first effort in this initiative: a video blog in which Taylor does stuff on a farm for some reason. See it after the break.

brutallegendheaderimg580pxlkjd Brutal Legend DLC Hammer of Infinite Fate coming Dec. 17

If you claim to love Tim Schafer, the new Brütal Legend DLC, “Hammer of Infinite Fate,” is your chance to prove it. When it arrives on Dec. 17, you’ll be able to pay the designer the ultimate tribute and carve his giant, disembodied head into Mount Rockmore. Sure, you’re still a stalker, but in a totally socially acceptable way. You’ll also get the Oculus of the Lost, a Deuce upgrade that shows every collectible on the map, as well as new outfits for Eddie and four new multiplayer maps.

The pack’s apparently going to be a bit cheaper for PlayStation 3 users, who will pay $4.99 compared to 480 MS points ($6) on Xbox 360. That might be a misprint (we’ve asked EA for confirmation), but we recall that PSN users did get the first DLC free for two weeks. Teacher’s pets.

Creat Studios, which has done several PSN titles at this point, will unleash Mushroom Wars on the PS3 this Thursday, October 15. The PixelJunk Monsters-looking RTS has players controlling adorable armies that will slaughter each other in that endless pursuit for control of land, with mushroom bases being the staging ground for the next assault.

Some may say Mushroom Wars‘ premise and cutesy art don’t mix, but after watching the Critter Crunch creatures feed each other through rainbow vomit, we don’t know if there is a line anymore between cute and disturbing.
